Ray also had game announcer roles in the films He Got Game (1998) and Blink (1994). Ray is perhaps best known for his work for the Chicago Bulls basketball team in the 1990s as the team P.A. Announcer in the United Center. In 2006, he was hired to become an announcer for the Chicago Sky of the WNBA, the Bulls' fellow tenant in the United Center. At the time of his hiring, the Sky played their home games at UIC, where Clay was working as director of campus recreation.
