- Gank is a term used in MMOs and multiplayer videogames similar to the word "kill." Players can engage in the act of ganking, whereby they kill other players; they can be ganked where someone kills them (the term is generally not used to describe a kill at the hands of a non-player-character (NPC) that is controlled by the computer or game); and they can describe another as a ganker.
- Blowing up a ship or small groups of ships using higher numbers and heavy firepower
- Gank are bipedal sentient species native to the ecumenopolis moon of Nar Shaddaa. File:WookieepediaFavicon.png For information on this subject beyond The Old Republic, see: Gank on Wookieepedia
- Ganks were a sentient species native to a planet located in Hutt Space that was conquered by the Hutt Cartel, which was controlled by the Hutts from the neighboring world of Nal Hutta, who turned the them into slaves or vassals.
- In Heroes' Ascent, the term gank is used to describe the tactic by which one or two teams gang up against another team to prevent them from winning. A team might gank if they realize that they cannot win, and instead of resigning, go after one team to prevent them from winning. They could also gank by immediately seeking to take another team out of the battle. They may whisper members of the third team and agree to team up. There are several reasons a team might gank but most commonly it is because they do not like the players or tactics of the team they chose to gank. Another reason may be to help friends, allies, or guildies on the third team win.
- Les Ganks sont une espèce originaire d'une planète de l'Espace Hutt. Celle-ci est contrôlée par le Clan Hutt qui a réduit les Ganks en esclaves.
- The term gank, or ganking, has several meanings but generally means player killing.
- The term gank has several meanings, but often implies an overwhelmingly large group or much higher leveled player killing you and/or your group. ("A 60 Hordie ganked me"" or "Alliance players are ganking lowbies") It frequently carries the implication the attack is overwhelming or otherwise clearly biased against the individual, either being substantial lower in level or having been previously weakened by an unrelated threat.
- The term gank has several meanings:
* When an overwhelmingly large or more powerful group or party kills you and/or your group. Commonly used as a verb. "A 60 Hordie ganked me." or "Alliance players are ganking lowbies." Related term: PKer.
* Where a single player purposely attacks a player of the opposing faction who is of substantially lower level.
* When a single player attacks a player of equal or lesser level who is in the middle of a fight with something else and is handicapped by that fight and unable to deal with the ganking enemy.
* A Gank setup is also used for all-out attack with little consideration to defense, i.e., pure Strength and Attack Power boosting to ensure maximum DPS.

* The most common ganking class out there is the Rogue, with stealth, and high burst DPS. It's what you should expect to be hiding behind that tree in "Ganklethorn Vale" if you're on any sort of PvP server.
* Some of the most common ganking spots on PvP servers are Hillsbrad Foothills and Stranglethorn Vale. Hillsbrad Foothills is home to the infamous Darrow Hill, more commonly known as the "Yeti Cave", where countless level 20-30 players trying to complete quests are ravaged by roaming 50-80s. For Stranglethorn Vale the entire place could be a danger to anyone doing their quests, as usually level 80s roam the place, preying on low leveled characters.

Successful ganks usually consist of very short fights and depend on tactics like high burst DPS and the ability to hide; Rogues are stereotypical gankers. Areas such as "Ganklethorn Vale" and Hillsbrad Foothills are infamous for ganking, as they are locations that naturally overlap differently-leveled characters of opposing factions.
