Mephistopheles is a sinister character who appears in the Nexus when your Character Tendency reaches pure Black. She will ask you to assassinate other characters, and give you a reward for each kill. When you finish, she will attack you, and upon defeating her you will obtain the Foe's Ring. Since the characters you kill will not respawn until your next playthrough, it is recommended that you do this quest right before the end of the game, and only after you have made sure that you do not need to change your miracles/magics.

  • Mephistopheles, (or Mephisto for short) is one of Ghost Rider's main enemies and is apparently the particular devil who gave Johnny Blaze his Rider powers. He is sometimes referred to as Satan in the comics, though this designation sometimes applies to other devils such as Marduk Kurios, Satannish, and Thog (see article on Satan for further details). He is also the father of Blackheart and responsible for many of Ghost Rider's problems. He created the anti-hero Suicide, and helped awaken the power of Ghost Rider's future ally Vengeance.

  • Mephistopheles, the King of Hell, was a character on Xena: Warrior Princess. He was the Royal Ruler of Hell, until Xena killed him and forced Lucifer to take her place as the rightful ruler of Hell. Mephistopheles ordered Callisto to kill Julius Caesar and make Xena follow the path of peace that Gabrielle was following at the time, in order to have a chance of resurrection. She failed and inadvertantly caused their deaths, which led to Mephistopheles to turning her into an Archdemon. Mephistopheles remained silent during Callisto's subsequent redemption and a demonic Xena's failed invasion of Heaven- it is not clear to what, if any extent, these events fitted into his plans.

We that with the regular human body of Faust, the bigger Mephistopheles was taking control but it turns out that they had a contract for Faust to become a Kamikui. Humans that become Kamikui... I guess this is something that can happen too. As a result of Faust's wish was granted, he was taken in by Mephistopheles... I wonder if that is really happiness?" • It is probable that the name Mephistopheles was invented for the historical Johann Georg Faust (c.1480–c. 1540) by the anonymous author of the first Faustbuch (1587). A latecomer in the infernal hierarchy, Mephistopheles never became an integral part of the tradition of magic and demonology that predated him by thousands of years. He is mentioned only in the magic manuals attributed to Faust. He belongs essentially to literature.

  • Mephisto is the devil puppet that was made and named after the most famous devil, Mephistopheles, a character in the German folktale, 'Faust'. Andre Toulon used him in his puppet shows while in Cairo, Egypt during 1912. It is unknown if Mephisto was ever alive, but Toulon claimed he was a stringless puppet that moved on it's own. Though he is never actually seen doing anything autonomously in the films, he remains a popular puppet for fans of the series, possibly because of his interesting design. Mephisto was destroyed in a fire by a Cairo Merchant, who later gives 'the secret of life' to Andre Toulon.
