  • Before the release of any Manhunt game, there were features that were removed from the final product.
  • According to certain files found in the OSX version of OE-Cake, the developers had plans to make a much more detailed and capable engine. There are a number of cut tools that did not make the current version.
  • During the development of all games of the Age of Empires series, there were things planned to be added, but that never made it into the retail version of a game or have been changed.
  • Cut Content or beta elements refers to content in a work in progress that is not used in the final product. Beta content holds a particular interest to gamers to reveal what could have been and Mortal Kombat is no exception to this as there are various features that are shown in previous revisions but are taken away in the retail versions. However, through data-mining and hacking, some of these elements still exist, but can be in incomplete form and appear glitchy when used.
  • In the process of developing a video game, many ideas are discarded as unworkable for one reason or another. However, if the idea makes it far enough into the development process, aspects of it can still be found within the code of the released games, or it may show up in trailers or interviews with the developers. The following list covers much of this removed content. It is not comprehensive, and focuses on the more interesting elements.
  • Throughout the production process of the God of War series, many idea has been brought for to create new environment, new levels and new enemies. But many didn't make the cut. Of some only a drawing exists, others were completely worked out, only to be rejected later for numerous reasons.
  • Cut content details plot elements that were cut from the final version of a game in the Dragon Age series. They were not included are thus considered non-canon.
  • Cut Content is material that can be found in the files of a game. Often no more than a text mention, other times it's a fully developed and usable part of the program that was cut from the game at some point in development. Cut content may also refer to content that appeared in beta or demo versions of the game or in trailers that never made it into the final game.
  • Here's a list of content which previously formed part of OpenArena, but which, with the time, it was cut from future versions, from maps to character models and skins to other features.
  • Cut content refers to various resources such as mutants, weapons, armors, or items, which were planned for inclusion at some point during a game's development but were removed or "cut" prior to the final release. In many cases these cut items still exist in some form within the game, but require additional resources or simple code changes to make them accessible. In some cases, content which was cut from one game may be included in a sequel; examples include the Burer and Chimera mutants and the Browning Hi-Power pistol.

  • Cut content refers to content which is not used (cut) either directly or indirectly in the final version of the game. From debug menus, to unused music, graphics, enemies, or levels, many games have content never meant to be seen by anybody but the developers — or even meant for everybody, but cut due to time/budget constraints, or otherwise not being interesting. Most of it can still be found in the game files but is inaccessible within the game itself.

Most of it can still be found in the game files but is inaccessible within the game itself. Note: cut content should not be confused with legacy content, as the two differ in certain areas (with the exception of certain elements being removed i.e removed textures, scripts etc.). Legacy content consists of the content from an earlier game that has not been modified in any manner. Cut content can consist of legacy content that has been adjusted for the later game (example:Nuka-Cola Quantum in the base Fallout: New Vegas game).
  • Cut content refers to various resources such as mutants, weapons, armors, or items, which were planned for inclusion at some point during a game's development but were removed or "cut" prior to the final release. In many cases these cut items still exist in some form within the game, but require additional resources or simple code changes to make them accessible. All three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games retain some amount of unused content. In many cases this is as minimal as a configuration file for a weapon or an unused inventory icon, but in others this may include a fully functional item, complete with all associated inventory icons, textures, models, and configuration files, which is simply not accessible during normal play. In some cases, content which was cut from one game may be included in a sequel; examples include the Burer and Chimera mutants and the Browning Hi-Power pistol.
