The WCHA Player of the Year is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the WCHA regular season to the best player in the conference as voted by the coaches of each WCHA team. The Player of the Year was first awarded in 1961 and every year thereafter except for 1963–64. From the beginning of the conference to 1991–92 it was known as the WCHA Most Valuable Player.
