General Andrey Zukhov is an aircraft carrier and the flagship of the Alaskan navy. She was commissioned by the Alaskan Navy, and was intended to be the first of her class, but when the Alaskan government cut the remainder of the program, and only the Zukhov was built. Zukhov is named after the Andrey Zukhov, a famous Alaskan War general. The Zukhov was laid down in 1997, and after the main hull was finished in 1999, was transferred down to San Diego, for being equipped with the latest in military technology from the United States. The Zukhov was launched from Aleksandrgrad. The carrier, due to the size of the Alaskan navy, travels with the US Third Fleet, which is stationed in Tacoma.
