He is inspired by minimal music, acid house and the Berlin techno scene: "Whenever I start producing, I listen to a couple of old Bonsai [famous Belgian techno label, ed.] rave tracks. Then, I get all pumped up and shit, and I just need to record that feeling, that feeling of being completely submerged in sound. I usually try to achieve that by closely listening to what exactly makes a track have such a hypnotic, slightly ethereal quality. It sometimes boils down to a specific sample or kick, but usually it is more about the 'hidden' changes in the drum patterns and the quality of the snare samples." Tone Factory, 2009 Teknik Bass has cited 808 State, the KLF, Orbital, Nostrum, Leftfield, Jones & Stephenson and many other older EDM artists and acts has his influences.
