Esquimalt is an incorporated city in the state of Pacifica, located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. Geographically, it is mostly located on the Esquimalt Peninsula between Esquimalt Harbor on the west, Whiskey Harbor on the east, and the Capitol Channel and Portage Inlet to the north. The state capital of Whiskey Bay is located east and north of the city across the water, and the city of Langford by land. The population of Esquimalt, as of the 2010 census, was 37,517, with much growth having occurred in the past decade due to a commercial and residential boom in downtown Esquimalt.
