HMS Birmingham was a ship in the Royal Navy. It was a Town class Light Cruiser, named after the city of Birmingham, in the Midlands of England. Four days after the beginning of the German War, Birmingham was sunk by the German U-boat U-20, unknown to the crew, off the coast of Holland. Nearly all the crew died.
