You tell the shopkeeper about the fake cougar.
"Oh I see, if you wanted a REAL one then you'll have to get me a rare item. A griffin feather."

"You are no longer needed here, we've decided to deal with this man now. The griffin feather along with the obsidian cougar will be payment enough for a new trinket. "
- "I am a collector, adventurer. I like rare items, in particular a rare obsidian cougar. If you can find me one then I will upgrade this trinket for you."
- "You managed to get me two rare items. I heard that the idiot sent you out to get a feather, rare item. I thought it'd be best if I sent some muscle down to deal with that shopkeeper. He would've been sending you on errands all day."

"Business was good, now begone."
The orc smiles as he turns around and enters the manor.
- "This is a fake. You have been duped by that fraud in Lysian. I suggest you go back to him and deal with him. I need the real obsidian cougar."
