Benedict XVI resigned at the end of February 2013. Did he expect facts to come out which could turn him into a problem for the RC Church if he stayed? As shown below a great many uncomfortable facts have emerged which caused problems for Benny. Is there yet more waiting to be discovered besides what's shown below? We can only guess.

  • Pope Benedict XVI is a German-born priest, who was the leader of the Catholic Church, replacing Pope John Paul II after his death in 2005. He first appears in the Season Nine episode, "Bloody Mary", and again in the Season Eleven episode "Fantastic Easter Special".
  • Pope Benedict XVI (Latin: Benedictus PP. XVI; Italian: Benedetto XVI; German: Benedikt XVI.; born Joseph Alois Ratzinger on 16 April 1927) is the 265th and reigning Pope, by virtue of his office of Bishop of Rome, the head of the Catholic Church and, as such, Sovereign of the Vatican City State. He was elected on 19 April 2005 in a papal conclave, celebrated his Papal Inauguration Mass on 24 April 2005, and took possession of his cathedral, the Basilica of St. John Lateran, on 7 May 2005. A native of Bavaria, Pope Benedict XVI has both German and Vatican citizenship. He succeeded Pope John Paul II.
  • Benedict XVI was elected Pope at the age of 78. He is the oldest person to have been elected Pope since Pope Clement XII (1730–40). He had served longer as a cardinal than any Pope since Benedict XIII (1724–30). He is the ninth German Pope, the eighth having been the Dutch-German Pope Adrian VI (1522–23) from Utrecht. The last Pope named Benedict was Benedict XV, an Italian who reigned from 1914 to 1922, during World War I (1914–18). On the appointed day and hour, and after two weeks of ceremonial farewells, the Pope left office and the time of sede vacante was declared.
  • A former professional rat catcher, and native of Bavaria, Pope Benedict XVI has both German and Vatican bloodlines making him virtually indestructible. His only weaknesses are Holy water, vampires, bullets, fire, mobs of angry citizens, and all blunt and jagged objects. He is slightly allergic to most poisons, radiation, lasers, fast moving vehicles, zombies, crosses, and high interest rates.
  • Pope Benedict XVI (born Joseph Alois Ratzinger in Germany, 16 April 1927) was the 265th Pope of the Catholic Church. Benedict is a well-known Roman Catholic theologian and a prolific author, a defender of traditional Catholic doctrine and values. During his papacy, Benedict emphasized what he saw as the need for Europe to return to fundamental Christian values in response to increasing de-Christianisation and secularisation in many developed countries.
