The South American grizzly bear is a subspecies grizzly bear that lives in grasslands, forests, and rainforests of South America. Its prey includes llamas, deer, and tapirs, but also feeds on berries. It is an omnivore. Unlike most other brown bear species, South American grizzly bears don't hibernate.
