The Sakethans were a group of Vulcan dissidents who left Vulcan many centuries ago, and established themselves on several planets including Calder II and New T'Karath. On the planets they visited they constructed burial mounds, where they interred many of their dead, or priceless artifacts. By the 24th century, these burial mounds were all that remained of the Sakethans. (TNG episode: "Gambit, Part I"; novel: Glass Empires: The Worst of Both Worlds).

  • The Sakethan culture was an entity which once had a presence on Calder II. On that planet, it left behind ancient ruins including burial mounds associated with Romulan artifacts. They also created glyph stones. By 2370, a Federation science station on the planet was tasked with protecting the Sakethan treasures from looters. (TNG: "Gambit, Part I" ) This culture was only mentioned in dialogue. The Sakethan culture appears to have been related to the Debrune.
