He was brought onto the bench for the first time in Rovers' 3-0 victory over Yeovil Town on 17 February 2009, but was not used during the game, and was named as an unused substitute in every game played during his loan spell. The only game he played for the club was for the reserves in a Gloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup quarter-final against Yate Town on 11 March 2009, which a young Rovers side lost 3–2 to their near neighbours.
