The German Institute for Media and Communication Policy (Institut für Medien- und Kommunikationspolitik) (IfM) was founded in 2005 as an independent research institution that is exclusively dedicated to issues surrounding media and communication policies. It was established in February 2006 in Berlin-Charlottenburg. The institute is funded by leading German public and private media organizations.
