abstract
| - The 10th Line Artillery Battery was an Insurrectionist artillery unit. Formed as part of the Boundary Republic's military in 2530, the 10th took part in some of the heaviest fighting against remnant UNSC Army, earning itself a reputation as one of the oldest and most effective artillery battery in the Fenceline Army, the main Insurrectionist unit east of the capital. When the UNSC attacked Boundary in 2559, the Fenceline Army was given the order to hold out long enough to prevent the UNSC from forming a strong foothold encircling the capital, and stopping the rest of the Insurrectionist forces from reinforcing them. During the ensuing battle, the 10th expended all its ammunition, as well as the ammunition of other batteries who's guns had been destroyed in a matter of hours, pounding an advance unit of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. Rendering their guns unusable, the men who remained of the 10th took up defensive positions. Despite only having bolt action and semiautomatic rifles, the remaining troops held out for another hour of combat. While the 10th's stand was mostly a footnote in military histories of the campaign on Boundary, the battery became a constant image in Insurrectionist propaganda on Boundary, and many rebel mortars or artillery pieces were emblazoned with a massive "10" on them.
