Zijn achternaam luidde oorspronkelijk De Heiden, maar is in 1980 officieel gewijzigd in Van Gorcum. Voor Disney sprak hij o.a de stemmen in van Basil Holmuis, Zazoe en Kapitein Haak in Terug naar Nooitgedachtland ook deed hij extra stemmen voor de film 101 Dalmatiërs.
