Sky Sanctuary Zone is a starter stage from the Sonic series, based on the location of the same name originating from the Sega Genesis game, Sonic & Knuckles. It was confirmed for inclusion in the final SSF2 v0.8 Dev Blog in October, 2011.

- Sky Sanctuary Zone (also known as Sky Palace) is the sixth Zone of Sonic & Knuckles (and the twelfth of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles). It is a collection of ancient ruins located in the sky above Angel Island. It is a holy territory and a sacred precinct which is forbidden for anyone to enter besides Knuckles the Echidna.
- Sky Sanctuary Zone es la sexta zona, de Sonic & Knuckles y la antepenúltima en Sonic 3 & Knuckles. La zona anterior a esta es Hidden Palace Zone. También reaparece en Sonic Generations.
- Knuckles the Echidna traveled to Sky Sanctuary Zone after Dr. Eggman's treachery was made known to him in order to recover the Master Emerald, and was forced to battle a robot that combined qualities from Metal Sonic and Silver Sonic. It would later be one of several locations visited by past and present versions of Sonic due to the actions of the Time Eater. (VG: S&K, SG)
- Sky Sanctuary Zone to szósty poziom w grze Sonic & Knuckles (12. w Sonic 3 & Knuckles). Jest przedostatnim poziomem dla Sonica i Tailsa, gdzie gracz walczy z trzema bossami, a ostatnim dla Knucklesa, który walczy z dwoma bossami.
- Hier kam die Sky Sanctuary Zone als erstes vor. Sie ist die vorletzte Zone in hier, da man danach in die Death Egg Zone kommt. Nach dem Bosskampf gegen Knuckles in der Hidden Palace Zone, gelagen Sonic,Tails und Knuckles hier her. In dieser Zone kommen nur die EggRobo als Badniks vor. Hier kommen insgesamt 3 Bosskämpfe gegen Mecha Sonic vor. Zwei von denen stellen Retrobosse aus den ersten beiden Spielen dar:
* Egg-Mobil (Wrecking Ball)
* Flying Eggman
- It has never been revealed why the Sky Sanctuary hovers above the Floating Island, but it is suggested that it does so thanks to the powers of the Chaos Emeralds. Metallix Mark 2 fled to the Zone via teleporter when confronted by Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles the Echidna. When there, Metallix powered itself up with the Master Emerald, knocked out Knuckles and punched Sonic all the way to the Emerald. Unfortunately for him, Sonic turned into Super Sonic and tore the Badnik apart. While Super was busy punching Knuckles to death, Grimer activated the teleporter from the Death Egg and retrieved the gem. Without its power, the Sky Sanctuary Zone quickly began to fall apart, leaving Sonic and Knuckles nowhere to go but up the pillar. From their vantage point, the pair watched the launch of the
