The patriarch, Ito Kabayama, was a prominent businessman and had direct control of the corporations, making the Kabayama Family very rich. His wife, Yamaya Kabayama, was the senator representing Belazura in the Galactic Senate, and after the Clone Wars, she was appointed the head of the Imperial Ministry of Finance by Emperor Palpatine himself. One of their two sons, Kiyoshi Kabayama, became an ace TIE pilot in the Imperial Navy, while the other, Kenji Kabayama, became a sergeant in the Imperial Army. The Family fell from prominence after Darth Vader set up Kiyoshi, making it look like he betrayed the Empire, as revenge for a past humiliation. Both Yamaya and Ito were executed by the Imperial Security Bureau, though Kiyoshi and his brother Kenji escaped and defected to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. They went on to fight at Endor. Kenji served the New Republic for several years before leaving it and becoming a bounty hunter, later marrying a former Jedi and having a son named Hideyoshi Kabayama. He was later killed in 27 ABY during the Yuuzhan Vong War, but his wife and son lived on. Kiyoshi defected back to the Imperial Remnant and fought against the Yuuzhan Vong. He died later on in 52 ABY, alone on Bastion.
