The group was captured by Inferniak, the king of the volcano-men, who attempted to crush them. He threw them aside, and the dinosaurs found that the megalosaurus ice-maker was working anyway and freezing up Mount Steamalot. Together with the cadets, Colonel Erick, and Commander Gruff, Tarq and Korlius managed to defeat Inferniak and his warriors. Commander Gruff threatened to arrest them for trespassing, but the cadets stuck up for the meat-eaters and Gruff offered to reward the two for their help by offering them access to herbivore space to help the astrosaurs destroy the rest of the volcano-men.
