| - Thanks to his host body, Emigh was able to keep Lawrence's activities secret. However, by 1947, Lawrence got sloppy, which resulted in the famous Black Dahlia murder. Emigh framed Spike, at the time Lawrence's bodyguard, by placing his fingertips on letters from the murderer. Because of his inability to jump into a new host body before the current one passed away, Emigh remained in his body for decades, and ended up at a retirement home, waiting for it to die so he could jump into a new host. When Spike tracked him down, Emigh tried to leave his body and take over Spike, but failed to paralyze him because of his vampire status. The two fought and Spike killed him.
