The Ice Shield was a weapon used by Toa Mata Kopaka as his secondary weapon. The Shield had no powers of its own, however the shield, like all Toa Tools, could channel Kopaka's Elemental Powers of Ice through it. The Shield could also be used as a snowboard, a use that Kopaka did not regularly use but can be used.Upon his transformation into a Toa Nuva, the Ice Shield was transformed into a larger, stronger shield. When Kopaka recieved Adaptive Armor he discarded the Shield.

Upon gaining adaptive armor, Kopaka traded his Ice Shield and Ice Blades for a Midak Skyblaster with a Blizzard Blade.
