- Archenland, officially the Kingdom of Archenland, was a mountainous country situated south of the Kingdom of Narnia and north of the Calormene Empire. Along with Narnia and other dominions, Archenland constituted part of the larger Narnian Empire. The seat of government was at Anvard, in the heart of the country. Anvard, the name of the castle, also gave the name to the city, which was the Kingdom's capital and only known populated area.

Archenland está en buenos términos con Narnia, como se ve en El caballo y el muchacho, aunque a lo largo de los siete libros los cambios en ese mundo son tremendos ya que transcurren cientos o miles de años narnianos. Sus reyes descienden de Cor, hijo del Rey Frank V de Narnia, que estableció el Reino de Archenland el año 180 de Narnia. sus monarcas màs famosos son el rey Lune, el rey Cor II (Tambièn conocido como Shasta) hijo de Lune y su hijo, el rey Ram el Magno. Otros personajes conocidos son la reina Aravis, esposa de Cor II, y el prìncipe Corin, hermano menor de Cor II quien es conocido por haber sido el mejor boxeador de las tierras de norte. Un dato curioso sobre Archenland es que los hermanos suelen ser llamados, el primero con una consonante al final, y el segundo con la terminnaciòn in: Cor y Corin, Dar y Darrin, etc'. El momento màs peligroso que Archenland ha vivido fue cuando el principe calormeno Rabadash intentò conquistar Anvard con doscientos jinetes, pero su intento fracasò por la apariciòn del ejèrcito narniano durante el asedio a Anvard.
