Bob panics when he receives a letter confirming Billy Hopwood has been granted parole. He chooses to hide the evidence from Viv but faces Kelly’s wrath when she finds out. She is furious when it transpires that Bob could have prevented Billy from returning to the village, if he had told Viv, and demands that he comes clean to his family. Meanwhile, Matthew schemes as he warns Barraclough that he will make an official complaint about Vaughan’s personal relationship with Rosemary. Barraclough immediately alerts Vaughan to Matthew’s threat and the chief agrees to back off for the sake of the investigation. Elsewhere, Katie takes the brunt of Andy’s anger over Billy’s release.
