- In April 1980 , he did the cover art for the first two issues in the Marvel TOS line, "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and "V'ger", the first two parts of the movie adaptation. His career began in 1975 with the independent Star*Reach, and he worked with them until 1979. He first began working for Marvel in 1976, and continued there until 1988. During that time, he worked on Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, and Howard the Duck (among others). He joined DC Comics in the early 1990s, working on issues of Batman and Shadow. He also provided artwork for a story in Neil Gaiman's Sandman series and did the artwork with Shepherd Hendrix on Restaurant at the End of the Universe.
