The Radio Free Europe (also known as Radio Liberty) is a radio broadcaster funded by the United States government. It has been operating since 1949. It is located in Europe (mostly in West Germany), and its main task is to broadcast American propaganda to Communist countries in Eastern Europe. It broadcasts in many different languages, including Russian, Hungarian, Polish, and Czech. Most Communist governments are trying to block the radio frequency, with more or less success.
