To ensure their continued relevance and rule, the noblemen of Taris organized a Peerage which would permit their living relatives to inherit their titles and estates, a system which continued until the last days of the Jedi Civil War. House of Sunrunner, whose members held the County Sunrunner title, was generally believed to be the only extant noble house to survive the planet's destruction.
