Description
  • Introduction
  • Completion
  • To launch itself into the air, the Pinwheel seems to use these tentacles to push off the ground. I'm not sure how it manages to float slowly back down though - the tentacles may have something to do with it, or maybe it's also expelling air downwards somehow to slow its descent. One way or another, it is sure an unusual creature... reminds of an aquatic animal more than something that lives on land. Thanks for helping out again, {player}, and take this new Sprocket about Pinwheels!
  • Great! I'd really like to study the tentacles that the Pinwheel spins as it floats. Do they propel the Mimic through the air, or does it just use to lash out at prey? It's so bizarre! A tentacle is likely to be left behind when a Pinwheel combusts, so try to collect 30 of these specimens for me. Let me know when you've found enough!
  • Have you seen those strange Pinwheel creatures in the Copperstone Mines? They're one of the strangest types of Mimics I've heard of, floating and spinning unlike any native creature I know. Would you have time to help out the Mimicology Department with Pinwheels, {player}?
  • After studying the tentacles, it seems like they might serve two uses. They mainly seem to be used to attack its prey, and with the claws on the ends and the spinning motion, together they act like a spinning sawmill saw on its victims. It also seems that spinning motion of the tentacles could help in propelling the Pinwheel to the left or right as it descends.
