She deeply regretted supporting his efforts, as they'd led to his death; she was also tired of fighting and ready to give up the battle. When Miles Vorkosigan offered life in exchange for their surrender, she recalled how he'd pushed regulations to allow company death benefits for her children and decided to trust the son of the Butcher after all. Her vote decided the matter; they surrendered.
