Day age creationism refers to an old earth creationist belief that the days of creation in Genesis do not refer to literal days but to longer periods. Frequently the concept of "as day is a thousand years" from 2 Peter 3:8 is used to justify the concept. 1But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2Peter 3:8 (KJV) Nevertheless, other day age creationists are prepared to give longer values to each day. In more extreme case they are even prepared to change the order of the "days".
