Death Note: The Last Name (デスノート the Last name Desu noto: the last name) is a 2006 Japanese film based on the popular manga and anime series. It is the followup to Death Note which was released in June of the same year.

The Last Name deviates from the manga and anime, although the ultimate conclusion remains the same. There is no time skip between the first and second films, and Near and Mello are omitted from the story. Instead, the first two films keep the battle between Light Yagami and L. There is also a slight change to Rem's gender, for she is male in the movie.
