The GATO-INC War was the first alliance war and first global war ever recorded. It is often referred to as World War I or the First World War, although the convention of naming later wars along the same lines did not catch on. The war began due to unfriendly relations between the two major alliances in existence, the Global Alliance and Treaty Organization and the Imperial Nations Coalition. GATO was smaller and less powerful, with most of the largest nations being members of INC. Following the war, GATO expanded quickly, outpacing and receiving many former members of INC.

  • The GATO-INC War was the first alliance war and first global war ever recorded. For several days GATO leadership taunted INC, eventually discussing war in private forums. Ninja of INC became aware of GATO's war preparations and declared war, terming the war World War One. As the war progressed, the two alliances found themselves in a stalemate. Finally, INC founder and Vice-President Chris Miller determined that the situation was ridiculous and asked for GATO to declare peace. LevH7 of GATO, serving as ambassador, negotiated a peace treaty with Ninja and Chris Miller of INC. Peace was mutually declared, with both alliances agreeing to terms stating that there was no victor in the war, and that both alliances would refrain from spying on each other (setting an anti-espionage precedent which would be used in declarations of war ever since). Following the war, GATO expanded quickly, outpacing and receiving many former members of INC.
