Andrew Audenshaw was the expansive representative of Green Door Hotels who called at Roy’s Rolls after reading in the Gazette of the dynamo-type invention of Roy Cropper’s grandfather which Roy had connected between the door of the café and an automatic cutlery dispensing machine. Mr Audenshaw, very much a kindred spirit of Roy’s, wanted to purchase the patent in order to use it in his company’s hotels, connecting it to the revolving doors as part of a green power source for the rest of the building. After some hesitation, Roy sold the patent.
