- Some time prior to 2268, Randall was serving as chief communications officer aboard the Saladin. During this time, she was briefly involved with Robert Shea, but the relationship came to an end following her assignment to the USS Lexington. Randall was serving aboard the Lexington during in the disastrous war games against the USS Enterprise, which was testing Doctor Richard Daystrom's M-5 computer. Following the incident, Randall took a temporary leave of absence to come to terms with the events.

Following the incident, Randall took a temporary leave of absence to come to terms with the events. Following her recovery, she returned to her old assignment aboard the USS Saladin. (Starship Saladin) On Stardate 9347.9, Lieutenant Lisa Randall was in temporary command of the Saladin during a rescue attempt of Commodore Alexander Enwright, from the Klingons, led by Commander Kor.
