The 1951-40 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Carrell Speedway on November 11, 1951. Many of the sport's top drivers, including eventual season champion Herb Thomas, chose not to make the long trip to California. Bill Norton didn't mind however, edging out Dick Meyer for Norton's only career victory. Stats
