Mark Charnock (born 28th August 1968 in Bolton, Lancashire) appeared in Coronation Street in November 1993 as a Pizza Delivery Boy. This was one year after his acting debut in 2point4 Children and one year before his first major role in Cadfael alongside Derek Jacobi as Brother Oswin, a part he played for three years. In August 1995, he returned to Coronation Street for one episode as PC Turner. In 1996 he became a member of the regular cast of Emmerdale as chef Marlon Dingle, a member of the extended Dingle clan in the Yorkshire village, a part he plays to this day and for which he has won an acting award.
