The Richmond Railways was the largest street railway company in Staten Island (the borough of Richmond in New York City) after 1927, when it was formed from the former Richmond Light & Railroad Co. In 1933, the company established a subsidiary, Staten Island Coach Co., to begin operating buses, replacing the Richmond Railways streetcars. This was done gradually until the end of streetcar service in Staten Island.
