| - In stark contrast to how he caught most of his other Pokemon, Charlie distinctly remembers having caught Farfetch'd. In the middle of a forest with tall, bouncy trees, Charlie was lost and hopeless. Rain poured down and lightning cracked through the sky with great intensity. He was afraid that he would be struck down by a bolt of lightning and murdered, for he did not know his fate. While this happened, Charlie pulled out a Great Ball and threw it at the Farfetch'd while he was distracted. Miraculously, despite having almost full health, Annihilator was caught after only seven more tries.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw the Farfetch'd. It was noble in appearance, feathered and brown. Charlie planned on hunting the bird and eating it and so he ran after the beast. The bird, too, ran away. For hours this chase went on, the rain pouring down on the both of them. Eventually, however, the Farfetch'd found his way out of the forest and Charlie did too. To say that Charlie was surprised would be an understatement He could not believe his fate. Clearly this Pokemon was a gift from some deity, and Charlie would be aloof to not catch the Farfetch'd. And so he sent out the faithful The One Without A Nickname, and a grand battle began. It began with the Magikarp using tackle. In turn, the Farfetch'd responded with a Sand Attack. The Magikarp, disoriented, tried to tackle him again but missed, instead crashing into a pile of dirt a few yards away. The Farfetch'd responded to this with a Fury Attack, and the Magikarp took it on in full. With each cut, Charlie's hope diminished. Magikarp used Splash hopelessly and Charlie knew it was almost over. The Farfetch'd reared its mighty leak and began to deliver the finishing blow upon The One Without A Nickname. While this happened, Charlie pulled out a Great Ball and threw it at the Farfetch'd while he was distracted. Miraculously, despite having almost full health, Annihilator was caught after only seven more tries. Ever since this fateful encounter, Charlie has seen Annihilator as one of his most trusted companions and he is Charlie's favorite aside from Dragonmaster. Charlie has tried to teach him to Fly, but he lacks the HM for it and therefore the bird does not fly. This leaves Charlie in grave need of transportation, which is probably why he is constantly riding on Dragonmaster's back.
