Despite it's cold climate, the place is a target for travelers and worth any wanderlust. The previous leader of the village was Hiroaki Kimura, who ran the village and Maki clan until he disappeared mysteriously. Next in line was Hiroaki's first born Eiji Maki. A year later, Eiji disappeared as well and left the village and clan to his younger sister Natsuki Maki. Sunchō no Mura was a peaceful village and rarely got involved in any wars. However, seeing as most of their residents are members of the Maki Clan, they have been called upon for battle. The Maki Clan is an ancestor of the Yuki Clan, possessing the Ice Release Kekkei Genkai as well although it is rare. Their hard-to-find location made it impossible for any enemies to invade the village and it has been used as a safehouse for many shinobi.
