Jeff Gordon, the eventual season champ, was on his way to victory, but when he jumped a restart caused the field to be put under caution again. The extra lap of caution drained Gordon's fuel tank enough and Gordon ran out on the last lap. Mark Martin instead drove by and won his first All-Star race. Stats
