| - The duel will start only if the Duel Gloves hit a target is not sleeping, paralyzed, choking, dimmed, in fear status, nor in the player's home, and is in a state where they can be talked to. The thrown gloves will be consumed upon starting a duel. Note that if the glove misses, no duel will start, the NPC will become hostile, and normal karma and relationship losses will occur. A duel will end only when the target or the player is dead or is forced to leave the map (i.e., quest map times out). If the opponent is a god, remanding them by interacting with them will also end it.

The thrown gloves will be consumed upon starting a duel. Note that if the glove misses, no duel will start, the NPC will become hostile, and normal karma and relationship losses will occur. During a duel, exiting the map, using stairs, leaving the map by selecting an option in a dialogue with an NPC, return/escape usage, and initiating other duels is disabled. Incognito and disguise will also have no effect. A duel will end only when the target or the player is dead or is forced to leave the map (i.e., quest map times out). If the opponent is a god, remanding them by interacting with them will also end it. The target will drop 1/4 of their money (except shopkeepers), and will also drop their card and figurine. All items that are miracle-level or above on the target are also guaranteed to drop. However, precious items that are set to not drop will still not drop after a duel (e.g. the Melodyus on Karavika). Duel Gloves are a great way of getting rid of a grudge, earning cards and figurines, and nabbing Little Sisters from the nefarious Big Daddies. Duel gloves commonly drop from Manticore (a 50% chance). Duel Gloves cannot be given to fellow adventurers regardless of impress level. Duel gloves always turn into a sleeping bag when transformed by a rod of alchemy (blessed and normal rod). Rarely appears purchasable from goods vendors.
