While it's total firepower and durability is surpassed by the - now aging - ISD Mark I, its frontloaded weapon layout enables it to challenge such ships head on and likely emerge victorious. However, when fighting multiple targets attacking from different angles its disadvantages become apparent, and an ISD Mark II outclasses it in either situation. Nevertheless, it offers distinct advantages above its more powerful, larger counterparts in the areas of sublight speed, figher capacity and fighter defense, and its secondary turbolaser emplacements are still a dangerous deterrent to smaller capital ships. Unlike a typical star destroyer, the Chakrar is first and foremost a ship designed for space combat, and lacks similar ground force complements. The carried troops are trained and equipped to perform and repel boarding actions first and for ground operations second. No heavy vehicles are onboard, though some of the infantry-carried heavy weaponry can be employed effectively versus hostile tanks or walkers. Due to the cost involved in producing these powerful ships, comparably few exist, usually as part of a dedicated battlegroup.
