Emmerdale Village Institute (also known as the Village Hall) is a community building in Emmerdale, situated on Church Lane next to the Gennie Walker Memorial Playground. Many of the village nativity plays and other community events have taken place in the hall over the years, including the village playgroup, art contests, dance classes, a football group, coffee mornings, bereavement counselling, holiday clubs, 'Belly Shrinkers' weight loss group, choir practices, private functions and parties.

Many of the village nativity plays and other community events have taken place in the hall over the years, including the village playgroup, art contests, dance classes, a football group, coffee mornings, bereavement counselling, holiday clubs, 'Belly Shrinkers' weight loss group, choir practices, private functions and parties. In August 2015, the hall hosted Debbie Dingle and Pete Barton's wedding reception. During the reception a helicopter crashed into the village hall, resulting in the deaths of Ruby Haswell and Val Pollard and leaving other injured.
