  • Normally, the giant, sometimes being named likewise, is portrayed as the villain, but not Thunderdell in this TV film. In fact, he is one of the nicest giants ever. However, Jack's greedy ancestor of the same name, who happens to be Jack the First (the Jack from the original fairy tale), betrayed Thunderdell's friendship and hospitality and stole the hen that laid the golden eggs and the singing harp, which were needed to keep the giants' land green. In an attempt to save the land, while nicely asking Jack to give the harp and goose back and promising to give him more eggs, he is about to fall to his death. His biological son, Bran, tries to pull him up, but Thunderdell talks him into letting him fall to his death. Now his skeleton is kept in Jack's closet.

  • Thunderdell was the guardian of the sacred treasures of Giantland - the harp and the goose - in Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story. He was the foster father of the leading lady Ondine and the real father of Bran. Thunderdell is the famous giant in the story Jack and the Beanstalk from whom Jack "liberated" the harp and the goose that laid the golden eggs. However, Thunderdell wasn't the mean and greedy character that the story potrays him as. Thunderdell was kind, gentle and friendly. He was a loving father, and enjoyed meals of aged wine and carefully seasoned mutton. Sadly, while trying to regain the stolen property from the evil Jack, and thus save Giantland, he fell down to Earth. Long believed to have died in the fall, this was later revealed to be untrue; Jack's mother killed him with an ax, when he turned out to be badly injured but still concious after crashing to earth. Actually, Bran tried to save him, but Thunderdell urged him to let go, and Bran's hand finally slipped. His bones were found by Robinson Enterprises while breaking ground on their new casino - and the giants still want revenge on the Robinson family for his murder.
