George Armstrong Custer (December 5, 1839 - September 20, 1908) was an American cavalry officer and politician, known for his service in the Indian Wars and the Alaskan War, as well as for his attempts to receive the Nationalist nomination for the Presidency in 1892 and his service as a Senator for Michigan from 1895 to 1907.
