Same rules as last time. Begin! Ramos: Let’s give them a great battle Weepinbell. Ryan: “Let’s give it all we’ve got Quilladin!” Quilladin: “Quill!” Ryan: “Pin Missile!” Ramos: Razor Leaf! Ramos: Now, use Slam! Ryan: “Use your vines to catch Weepinbell and then use Vine Whip!” Ramos: You have definitely improved. Now, Razor Leaf! Ryan: “Use your vines to bat the leaves away and then use Leech Seed!” Ramos: Using Leech Seed again. Well, use Poison Powder! Ryan: “Use Rollout!” Ryan: “Good job.” Quilladin (smiling): “Quill.” Ramos: Now, use Slam! Ryan: “Alright, Quilladin, that’s enough. Time for the other part of my strategy.” Delphox: “Del!” Ryan: “Let’s do this! Start off with an Ember!” Ramos: A Delphox! Seems like this is his strategy. Now, use Slam! Ryan: “Psybeam!” Referee: Weepinbell is unable to battle! Ramos: Return Weepinbell! Ramos: I can see more passion in your eyes than last time. Ryan (Thinking): ‘Okay, I still have two chances to lose left. I can’t get cocky or anything similar. The battle at Lumiose Gym taught me that much.’ Ramos: Go Gogoat! Ramos: Now, use Wild Charge! Ryan: “Delphox, move!” Ryan: “Delphox, hit Gogoat with an Ember!” Ramos: Use Vine Whip! Ryan: “Psybeam!” Ramos: Use Horn Leech! Ramos: Now, Wild Charge! Ryan: “Delphox, are you okay!?” Ryan (Thinking): “Okay, this might be a bit crazy. but-.’ Ryan: “Delphox, combine Ember and Psybeam into one attack!” Ryan: “Wow, I’ve gotta admit, I wasn’t sure that was going to work. Awesome.” Ramos: That was a surprise young whippersnapper. Now, use Razor Leaf. Gogoat uses Razor Leaf and surrounds itself in a vortex of Razor Leaf. Ryan: “Use Psybeam to burn the leaves to a crisp!” Ramos: Now Wild Charge! Ryan (voice cracking): “Combine Psybeam and Ember again!” Referee: Gogoat is unable to battle. Ramos: Now that was a surprise. Return Gogoat. Ramos returns Gogoat. Ramos: You have improved, but are you ready to face my fastest Pokemon! Ryan: “Can I have a moment to talk with Delphox? It’s really important.” Referee: You have two minutes, otherwise you forfeit the battle. Ryan: “Delphox, how are you feeling?” Delphox: “Del.” Ryan: “Really? I just want to make sure I’m not pushing you too hard.” Ryan: “Delphox, I really want you to know that I’d love for you to trust me, as well as the fact that I would never be what that jerk that has my face was to you before we met.” Ryan: “I’m going to let you have a rest, and once you’re ready, I’ll let you battle.” Delphox: “Del.” Pumpkaboo: “Pump!” Ryan (To the referee): “I’m ready to go again.” Ryan: “Pumpkaboo, Confuse Ray!” Ramos: Dodge, then Thunderpunch! Ryan: “Dodge and use Leech Seed!” Ramos: Use Mach Punch! Ryan: “Try a Confuse Ray!” Ramos: Dodge, then Seed Bomb! Ryan: “NO!” Ryan: “Razor Leaf!” Ramos: Thunderpunch! Ryan: “Delphox! What are you-!?” Ryan: “Alright Delphox!” Referee: That is an illegal play! Ramos: It’s alright. Pumpkaboo will have to be returned for the battle to continue though. Ryan (To no one in particular; calmly): “I agree that wasn’t a fair move, but it’s not like I asked Delphox to block the move. She was just looking out for her fellow Pokemon. Anyway, Delphox, Psybeam!” Ramos: Getting angry won’t help you win the badge. Headbutt! Ryan: “Let’s see how Breloom deals with that Ember/Psybeam combination!” RAmos: Mach Punch! Ryan: “Emberbeam!” Ryan: “Nice job Delphox, you did really well. Especially since it was not only your first Gym battle, but your first battle with me overall.” Ramos: That was a great battle. Here. Ryan: “Thanks Ramos.” Ryan: “You know Ramos, I like winning badges and all, but you know what I like better? Seeing a trainer with a great relationship with his or her Pokemon. I personally feel it shows a trainer really cares about Pokemon. Not just as pets or as friends, but as equals. And that’s what I see in you. A Gym leader who cares about his Pokemon.” Ryan: “I’d best be going. Bye.” Ryan: “Hey Anthony. I thought you left.” Ryan: “Sure did. And look.” Ryan: “I saw sense and brought out Delphox during battle. She was the real winner.” Ryan: “She even took an attack for one of my other Pokemon. Granted, as I’m sure you know, it was an illegal move, but it was a nice gesture either way.” Anthony: That’s cool. I’m heading back to Lumiose City now. Ryan: “Oh. Well, I’d better take everyone to the Pokemon Center. Tell Taillow and Starly I give them my regards. See you in the Pokemon League!” Narrator: Ryan challenged Ramos again after sometime thinking. After a close battle with Weepinbell, Ryan used Delphox who was the ace in his battle, earning him his second gym badge. With only six more gym badges to go, where will Ryan go next?
