| - Ryl, also known as Twi'leki, is the language of the Twi'leks. A complex combinations of sounds and the subtle motions of a Twi'lek's lekku, it is difficult for non-Twi'leks to understand and impossible for them to fluently reproduce, though the spoken part is not hard to master. A complex combinations of sounds and the subtle motions of a Twi'lek's lekku, it is difficult for non-Twi'leks to understand and impossible for them to fluently reproduce, though the spoken part is not hard to master. Independent lekku movement can be used to convey meaning, but is incomplete and requires the spoken portion of Ryl to make sense. Conversely, simply speaking Ryl results in a stilted, partially understandable communication form which should be avoided to keep from being misunderstood. Because of the integral audial and physical components of Ryl, Twi'lek poetry and song are kinetic, as well as vocal, recitals and augment the species' reputation of visual opulence in performance.
