David Hobbs, born June 9, 1939 is a former NASCAR driver from Upper Buddington, England. In his career, Hobbs has competed in two Sprint Cup Series events. Both came in 1976, when Hobbs made his debut in the big race-The Daytona 500. Starting 16th in a car owned by 70s powerhouse L.G. DeWitt, Hobbs drove to the front and led two laps. However, an untimely crash would force the English driver to 34th in the race. That good run earned him a ride later in the year at Michigan, where he started that race 22nd. A decent race would occur for Hobbs, who finished 17th, thirteen laps down. He has not raced since.
