Her best-selling book, Working in the Reggio Way: a Beginner's Guide for American Teachers is based on three years of living in Italy along with original research which was conducted in the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy. Wurm was born in San Francisco, CA and spent her early life divided between her parents. Her mother moved to Aptos, CA and her father, an engineer in early Silicon Valley lived in San Jose, CA. Julianne currently lives in New York City.
