| - In French folklore, the Tarasque was a dragon in the Aix La Chapelle region, specifically Nerluc in Provence. It had 4 or 6 legs, a lion's head (with the face of a lion or that of a bitter old man), horse's ears, bear's claws, and a long barbed tail. It has been depicted both with and without wings. It was covered in armored scales or a turtle shell, which it shed and regenerated every 7 years. It also breathed fire. It was considered the offspring of a Leviathan and a Bonnacon or a Leviathan and an Onachus, a giant serpent. It would ravage the countryside. Some accounts depicted Tarasque as a giant ox with bear's feet.

- Tarasque (タラスク, Tarasuku?), the Giant Iron Armored Dragon (大鉄甲竜, Dai Tekkō Ryū?) is the evil dragon who was tormenting the people of Southern France in the 1st Century. The creaure was also believed to have been born to the Onachus, a bison-like beast who burnt anything it touched, and the Leviathan, a supposedly serpetine-like creature discussed in biblical texts. Its place of birth is believed to be Galatia.
